Our Authority is the Holy Bible
which is living, powerful, and a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Historical beginnings are in the
first 11 chapters of the Bible.
-Creation
- Male and female, families
-Disobedience, Sin, Murder
-A cataclysmic global flood
(punishment but also
redemption)
-Man scattered across the world by language, and more
• Gen 1-11
Acts 17 mentions many of these
truths:
-God is Creator
-God made from one blood
all men
-Pre-appointed men’s times
-Men should seek the Lord
-Man moves and lives in God
-God has appointed a day He
will judge the world in
righteousness
-God’s proof of a judgement day is in Jesus’ resurrection
• Acts 17:23-31
King Solomon said, “Let us hear
the conclusion of the whole
matter: fear God and keep His
commandments, for this is
man’s all. For God will bring
every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing, whether good or evil."
• Ecc 12:13-14
God forbid that I should glory except in the cross…
God is Holy. God is Light. God is Love. God is Spirit.
One “Being” and three “Persons” (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit)
• Hab 1:13a, 1 John 1:5, 4:8, John 4:24, Mat 28:19
God the Son (Jesus), In
Him was Life, yet He
gave His life in humility
on the cross, God raised
up Jesus where he was
highly exalted and given
a name above every
name. No one comes to
God the Father except
through Him.
• John 1:1, 4, Phil 2:5-11, Acts 3:26, John 14:6
Christ Jesus came into
the world to save
sinners. He is the
mediator between God
and men. Salvation
comes from no one
other than Jesus. The
blood of Jesus Christ,
God’s Son, cleanses us from all sin.
• 1 Tim 1:15, 2:5, Acts 4:12, 1 John 1:7
God the Father “for
whom are all things
and by whom are all
things.” The Father
sent the Son to be the
Savior of the world.
• Heb 2:10, John 3:16, 1 John 4:14, 1 Cor 15: 24
God the Spirit (the
Spirit of Truth) was
promised to followers
of Jesus to be in them
and dwell in them.
“The Helper” would
teach them all things and bring all things to their remembrance.
• John 3:16, 14:15-18, 26, 1 John 4:14
Man was created in God’s image but sinned, with the wages of
sin being death. Adam’s sin’s penalty was passed to all men with
all men falling short of the glory of God. Now, before God, we are
all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy
rags. Our only hope of salvation and God’s favor is if we repent of
our sins and put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord.
• Gen 3:17-19, Rom 3:23, 5:19, 6:23, Is 64:6, Acts 20:21
